Like the ProAir, the ProAir Child is designed to be worn in conjunction with a conventional body protector for the highest level of safety. Pony Club rules stipulate that air vests must be worn with a conventional body protector, at least during the cross country portion of the event. The ProAir Child air vest has been tested on its own and has proven to protect as well as a conventional body protector, but protection levels are a personal choice, so please decide what is right for your child.
NOTE: Children must weigh at least 70 pounds to utilize this vest.
ONE MORE NOTE: The ProAir is not designed to be used on a western saddle. The bottom buckle on the vest may get caught on the horn during a fall. Obviously, that would be bad. What's better is our Hunter vest is designed with a zipper closure and works perfect with a western saddle. Problem solved!
